Who We Are

Durham Junk Pros is a locally owned and operated junk removal company serving Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Carrboro, Apex, Morrisville, Hillsborough, and the greater Triangle area. We started this business because we saw a real gap between what the big national junk removal franchises offer and what Triangle residents actually need — fast, honest, locally responsive service with a genuine commitment to donating and recycling before the landfill.

Our crew members live and work in the Triangle. That's not a marketing line — it means shorter response times, a real understanding of the neighborhoods we serve, and a team that has a stake in how Durham's communities look and function. We're not a franchise following a corporate script; we're neighbors doing a job well.

What We Do Differently

Donate first. Before anything goes to the disposal facility, we make a genuine effort to route usable furniture, appliances, clothing, and housewares to Durham-area charities — Habitat for Humanity's ReStore on Guess Road, Triangle-area Goodwill locations, and other partner nonprofits. We document donations and can provide receipts for your tax records. This isn't a tack-on feature — it's part of how we run every job.

Written quotes before we load. We walk through with you, assess the volume and any special handling requirements, and hand you a written, itemized quote before a single item gets moved. What you approve is what you pay. No phone guesses that turn into surprise charges when the truck is full.

We come inside. Our crew carries items out from anywhere in the home — upstairs bedrooms, tight basements, low-clearance attics, detached garages. You never need to stage anything at the curb. This matters especially in Durham's HOA communities and Cary's master-planned neighborhoods where curbside items create violations.

Durham Junk Pros is fully licensed in North Carolina and carries comprehensive general liability coverage on every job. We're happy to provide proof of insurance before any job where it's required — property managers, real estate agents, and estate attorneys request this regularly and we have it ready. Our disposal partners are licensed NC solid waste and C&D facilities — no illegal dumping, ever.

What We Haul

Furniture and mattresses, appliances (with EPA-compliant refrigerant recovery where required), electronics (certified e-waste recycling), construction and demolition debris, garage and attic contents, estate and hoarder cleanouts, yard waste, and general residential junk of virtually any kind. The short list of what we can't take: liquid hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, pesticides), propane tanks, and asbestos-containing materials. We'll tell you how to handle those safely if they come up during a job.
